The 18th annual Virginia-Highland Tour of Homes is scheduled for Saturday, December 8 and Sunday, December 9, 2012. All of the homes are located in the Virginia-Highland neighborhood, near the intersection of North Highland Ave and Virginia Ave. The hours on Saturday are from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm and Sunday’s hours are from 12 noon to 4:00 pm.
The charming Virginia-Highland neighborhood is known for its historic residences, fabulous boutiques, and award-winning restaurants. The VaHi tour of homes blends all of these elements into one special event. This festive two-day event showcases beautiful interior design and architecture of 8 unique homes in Atlanta. The homes featured on the tour this year include: several renovated bungalows, a 1920s Tudor cottage, a Frank Lloyd Wright inspired prairie-style home, and a historic Bed and Breakfast. Each home has it’s own distinct style, and visitors will enjoy unique features such as: gorgeous outdoor living space, wine cellars, beautiful artwork, spa-like bath retreats, and lush landscaping.
From 12 noon to 4:00 pm on both days, local restaurants will provide food tastings at each of the 8 homes.
Tickets are $25 in advance and can be purchased online or at the Intown ACE Hardware, Aurora Coffee, or San Francisco Coffee located in the Virginia-Highland neighborhood. Tickets purchased on the day-of are $30 and can be picked up at the YWCA located at 957 N. Highland Ave. Free parking for the event is also available at the YWCA. Proceeds from the event benefit the Virginia-Highland Civic Association which works to improve the neighborhood.
