Some of the items used for the memorials are colorful tablecloths, photographs, candles, incense, food, flowers and sugar skulls. Each memorial is unique and filled with beautiful and vibrant elements. At the end of the event, the altars will be judge and prizes will be awarded to the contest winner.
Cultural performances and storytellers will entertain the crowds and authentic Latino foods will be available to try.
The festival will also have live music and other entertainment, including dancing, all throughout the day. Vendors will offer free samples and product give-aways. Artwork and other arts and crafts will be on display and available for purchase, as well.
This event is free and anyone can sign up to build a memorial to honor their family and loved ones.
