The 44th annual Decorators’ Show House and Gardens by the Atlanta Symphony Associates will begin on Saturday, April 26th and continue through Sunday, May 18th. This year’s home is Buckhead’s “Pink Palace,” known for its previous pink color and pink dogwood trees, located at 541 W. Paces Ferry Road. Each day of the event has various hours, and there are also special events throughout the showcase.
The Atlanta Symphony Decorators’ Show House and Gardens is an event that gives guests a special look into one of Atlanta’s grandest estates. The 2014 home is an Italian Baroque-styles masterpiece, designed for lavish entertaining. The home has served twice before as the symphony’s show house (1979 and 2003) and has been the location for many Atlanta charity functions and other grand affairs. During a prior renovation, this 1920’s home has been equipped with a geo-thermal heating and cooling system, now making it a “green” home.
For the show, the house will feature over 30 of the Southeast’s top designers. These leading interior designers work together to develop a collective aesthetic vision, and the result is a “one of a kind” open house that attracts thousands of visitors each year. The collaborative designs for the home showcase many unique one of kind items that wow and inspire the tour guests. Many of the items are for sale, so attendees are encouraged to stop by the designer sales desk at the end of their tour to purchase their favorite items.
Tickets are available for an advance preview at the event’s Opening Night Party, where guests will not only have the opportunity to see the creations of Atlanta’s top designers, but also enjoy an evening complete with gourmet Italian fare and dancing to live music. Tickets are $200 per person, and guests are encouraged to wear pink to commemorate the occasion.
Festivities will continue through the remainder of the showcase, including: book signings, cooking demonstrations, wine tastings, decorators’ tips, and more! Tickets purchased before April 25th are $25 per person, and any tickets purchased at the door will cost $30.
All proceeds of the showcase benefit the Orchestra’s education and community engagement programs and initiatives, which touch the lives of countless children and adults throughout greater Atlanta each year.
