The Candler Park Fall Festival is Saturday, October 13 and Sunday, October 14, 2012. The festival is held at Candler Park in Atlanta. Saturday hours are from 12:00 pm to 10:00 pm and Sunday’s hours are 12:00 pm to 8:00 pm.
This free festival will have an artist market with artwork from over 150 different artists. Most of the artists are either from the southeast or the local Atlanta area. The various mediums featured will be everything from jewelry, clothing, paintings, woodwork, glass, and pottery to plant and food items and fun accessories for kids and pets.
There will be live music all day on Saturday and Sunday. Various types of music will be performed including light rock, blues, jazz, country, and rock and roll. The headliner for Saturday is the popular ’70s cover band, Yacht Rock Revue, and Sunday’s headliner is Francine Reed who brings an eclectic blend of Jazz, Blues, and R&B to the stage. Before the festival begins on Saturday, October 13, there will be a 5k race through the Candler Park neighborhood. The race begins at the corner of Page Ave and McLendon Ave and finishes near the festival entrance on Candler Park Drive just before McLendon. The race costs $24 in advance or $28 on race day, and proceeds benefit the Candler Park Neighborhood Organization.
At the festival there will also be a kids zone where kids will be able to jump and bounce and play. The bouncy houses will be open from 12:00 to 6:00 pm on Saturday and Sunday they will be open from 1:00 to 6:00 pm. For $5 kids can jump all day! The proceeds from the kid zone go to the Mary Lin Education Foundation.
There will also be plenty of food vendors at the festival serving cuisines such as Jamaican, Greek, Southern BBQ, and hot dogs, popsicles, and cupcakes to name a few.
