The Dunwoody Nature Center is wrapping up the fall with a few events you don’t want to miss. November is a perfect time to visit the Dunwoody Park and witness the changes mother nature is making.
Take in a matinee play in the park as Georgia Perimeter College will be performing Shakespeare’s As You Like It on November 2nd and 3rd beginning at 1pm. Bring a lawn chair or blanket and pack a picnic for an afternoon of entertainment. Admission is $5 to the general public and free for Nature Center members and students of all ages, and can be purchased at the event.
Experience nature at night with the final Friday Night Hike session on November 8th starting at 7:00pm. Explore the trails under the light of the stars armed with flashlights and a guide. Hear the sounds of owls, bats and other nocturnal creatures. Hikers are encouraged to stick around after the hike for hot cocoa and a warm fire.
On Thursday, November 14th at 7:00pm check out the Adult Social and Lecture on Bats. Join your friends and neighbors for beer and wine cocktails followed by a lecture on the importance of the bat in out ecosystem. This class is free to the public but advance registration is required through the website.
Keep your little ones occupied this Thanksgiving with the Nature Center’s very own Thanksgiving Break Camp November 25th and 26th. Campers will spend the day with nature themed crafts, activities, games and outdoor play as the explore the habitats of Dunwoody Park. The camp will offer both full-day camp (K-5th grade) and half-day camp (pre-school).
