The annual Butterfly Festival is on Saturday, August 17, 2013. The event takes place across from the Dunwoody Nature Center at Dunwoody Park which is located at 5321 Roberts Drive. The hours are from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm.
The Dunwoody Nature Center will have twice as many butterflies at this year’s festival. The Butterfly Festival is a fun time for guests and families to learn about and enjoy nature’s beautiful creatures. There will be two large tents at the event, and each tent will be filled with hundreds of live butterflies. Attendees will love getting to walk among the free flying butterflies, and get an up-close experience with the magical species.
At the event, there will also be other fun activities including a Birds of Prey show, live animal encounters, and other educational opportunities with special animal information booths. Children will also enjoy crafts, games, and music, and food and beverages will also be for sale.
Members of the Dunwoody Nature Center can gain early access to the butterfly tents beginning at 9:00 am. All guests are also able to purchase tickets in advance, and pre-purchasing tickets is the only way to guarantee entry to the butterfly tents for a specific time.
Tickets bought in advance are $8 for adults and $4 for kids. Admission on the day of the festival is $10 for adults, $5 for kids ages 4-12, and children ages 3 and under are free.
