Friday Jazz returns to the High Museum of Art for an evening with trumpeter, Melvin Jones. Live jazz performances will be featured in the atrium of the High Museum of Art every third Friday – always with a great lineup!
Friday | September 15th, 2017
6:00 p.m. – 10:00 p.m.
Relax with a cold cocktail, explore the museum’s permanent collections, and enjoy incredible live melodies from Melvin Jones at this coming month’s special performance. Renowned for his hypnotic sound and technical proficiency, Jones seems to shine seamlessly in almost any musical setting. Whether he’s playing lead trumpet, in a professional horn section, exploring a classical repertoire, or even stepping in front of a jazz quartet to lead a jam session, Jones captures the attention of any audience!
No matter the month, guests will enjoy music, drinks, and art. Drawing in the Galleries also takes place during each Friday Jazz from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. From the novice to the expert, guests are invited to drop in and sketch live clothed models in the galleries.
Seating for Friday Jazz is limited and opens at 6:00 p.m. There is no reserved seating, and standing room is plentiful.
