Brookhaven Park will be hosting the 1st annual Roots n’ Brews Festival on Saturday, October 5th from 11:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. In what will be the city’s first music festival organized by the Chamber of Commerce, Roots n’ Brews will raise money for Brookhaven’s parks.
The full day music festival will feature artists from all over the Southeast performing rock, funk, R&B, country, and folk music. There will be complimentary tasting from some of Brookhaven’s finest restaurants as well as an array of food trucks to satisfy all your street meat desires. Bring the whole family as kids under 16 get in for free and there will be a kid-zone with all sorts of activities to entertain them. Also present will be vendors from all over the state.
Ashley Logsdon, a chamber volunteer and manager of the event has high hopes for the musical guests saying, “We hope the caliber of musicians we’ve chosen will really put us on the map as a place to hear great live music”. For a schedule of the bands or to listen to some of their music before the festival visit their website.
Tickets are $40 in advance and $50 at the door, and include free parking, commemorative cups, and 2 free beers. This is a great community building event for the young city, so come out and support the parks (while also supporting your love for great food, beer, and music;)
