Sandy Springs Festival at Heritage Green

When: September 17 – 18, 2016
Saturday, 9:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m.
Sunday, 10:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.

Where: Heritage Green, 6075 Sandy Springs Circle

The two-day festival offers an exciting variety of fine art, live music, gourmet foods, races, rides, and family fun. Each year brings new surprises, and the celebrated community tradition has something for everyone! Access Atlanta has repeatedly awarded the festival as its “People’s Choice” best festival. 

2016 Festival Activities and Events:

Doug Kessler Sandy Springs Lightning 10K/5K Race

Feel like kicking off the festival early on a healthy foot? The Doug Kessler Sandy Springs Lightning 10K is designed for runners who enjoy a flat course through the lovely Sandy Springs community and neighborhoods. The race is one of the most popular Peachtree Road Race Qualifiers and has grown to include a 5K race!

Pet Parade

Even pet lovers can get in on the fun! Sport your furry friend in a creative costume for Saturday morning’s Pet Parade where pets of all shapes and sizes will parade through Sandy Springs. 

Children’s Park/ Teen Zone

Kids of all ages are also invited to join the fun! Over at the Children’s Park, kids of all ages will enjoy inflatable rides, a petting zoo, pony rides, face painting, and more! The Teen Territory features more adventurous activities for adventurous festival-goers, including the bungee jump and rock wall. City-of-SS-Collage

City Zone

Mingle among local Police, Fire, Hospitality and Tourism, and Recreation departments. Families won’t want to miss the City Zone where the city’s Police and Fire enjoy a friendly rivalry over who has the best giveaways!

Juried Artists’ Market

Looking for returning favorite artists, or the chance to explore new work? The Juried Artists Market features over 100 of the best artists in the southeast and beyond, joining together to showcase a variety of media including: painting, clay, jewelry, photography, printmaking, wood, and mixed media.

ARTSS Chalk WalkArtist-Market-collage

Artists will also have their opportunity to make their mark on the city in the 5th Annual ARTSS Chalk Walk as individuals and teams compete to win over $3,000 in prizes. All festival guests are encouraged to “Walk The Chalk” to see these masterpieces in progress as they grow, meet the artists, and vote for the “2016 Crowd Favorite” award!

Live Entertainment

Throughout the day, the Sandy Springs Festival will also feature live performances from local bands, neighborhood schools, and musicians, and athletes.

The Sandy Springs Festival has grown from a small picnic to a major event drawing 30,000 attendees.  As the primary fundraiser for Heritage Sandy Springs, funds are dedicated to supporting the nonprofit organization that saved the original “Sandy Springs” by building community, cultural identity, and preserving the historic integrity of the original Sandy Springs.
