fat tuesdayThis Fat Tuesday celebrate like you are in New Orleans with Cook Hall’s Fat Tuesday Party! An all-day party hosted by Cook Hall in the W Hotel Buckhead, located at 3377 Peachtree Road NE, Atlanta, GA.

In honor of the Mardi Gras holiday, Cook Hall will be taken over by everything New Orleans. Chef David will be cooking traditional Cajun favorites including braised chicken and crawfish gumbo, mini shrimp po-boys, and of course Mini King Cupcakes and Beignets! Amuse'umThe 11th annual “AMUSE’UM” benefit will take place Saturday, February 22nd from 7pm-11pm. The fundraiser event takes place at the Children’s Museum of Atlanta located at 275 Centennial Olympic Park Drive NW in downtown Atlanta, near Centennial Olympic Park.

The Children’s Museum will be celebrating its 11th birthday with its 11th annual fundraiser. This years’ adult-only fundraiser is themed AMUSE’UM – Hop…Skip…Jump Around the World. The Museum will be transferred into a cultural mecca featuring internationally inspired cocktails and cuisine. Decatur Old House Fair

Decatur Old HOuse FairThe 6th annual Decatur Old House Fair will be held Saturday, February 8th from 9am to 4pm. This event will be held at the Marriott Courtyard Decatur Hotel and Conference Center located at 130 Clairemont Ave., Decatur, and is hosted by the City of Decatur and the Georgia Historic Preservation Division.

The Decatur Old House Fair is the only home-show in the Southeast dedicated entirely to older homes. Designed as a day for homeowners to discover new ideas, materials and techniques for rehabilitating, furnishing, and maintaining their homes. Battle of the Bands 2014

Battle of the BandsThe 12th annual Battle of the Bands is scheduled for Saturday, January 25, 2013. The event takes place at the Georgia Dome located in downtown Atlanta. The doors open at 2:00 pm and the show starts at 3:00 pm.

This invitational showcase is open to the general public and it was created to celebrate, support, and recognize the excellence in various marching bands across the country. Several marching bands have competed in a tour over the last few months, and the top 8 marching bands will perform in this final showcase. Kids II Strong Legs Run

Kids II Strong Legs RunThe 29th annual Kids II Strong Legs Run is on Saturday, November 2, 2013.  The event takes place at Turner Field located at 755 Hank Aaron Dr SW in downtown Atlanta.  The 10k begins at 8:00 am and the other races will follow.

This Atlanta tradition is a race that raises funds for Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta.  In it’s 29th year, the races include something for everyone!  There’s a 10k, a 5k, a 2k Fun Run, a Mascot Trot, and a Stroller Roll. Atlanta Gallery Week

atlanta gallery week 2This week marks the first ever Atlanta Gallery Week! 17 galleries all across town have banded together to provide exhibitions, temporary installations and performances on each evening of this week-long event. From October 1st through October 6th some of the most established galleries and some just emerging galleries will participate.

All galleries and events for Atlanta Gallery Week are free and everyone is welcome. Most gallery owners love to talk about their passion for an artist’s work, so don’t be shy about asking questions.

Hearts and Hands Gala

hearts and handsThe 5th annual Hearts and Hands Gala is Sunday, October 5th at the Georgia Aquarium. The Reception starts at 6:30pm and Dinner is at 7:30pm. The Gala will raise money for the Atlanta Ronald McDonald House Charities (ARMHC).

The Gala hosted by WSB-TV’s David Chandley, will feature a black-tie seated dinner, live and silent auctions, and a performance by triple-threat Broadway star Megan Hilty. In an effort to add to the evening’s fundraising, the auctions will include prizes such as fine dining experiences, travel and entertainment packages.

The Color Run

color runThe Color Run is coming to Atlanta Saturday, September 28th at Atlanta Motor Speedway. The starting window is from 9am to 10am with waves of runners going every few minutes. But you are encouraged to show up early for the “pre-race party”!

The Color Run, also known as the “Happiest 5K on the Planet”, is a unique paint race that celebrates healthiness, happiness and individuality. Less about your 10-minute-mile and more about having the time of your life.
