Did you buy a home in the Atlanta area in 2013?
If you purchased your home last year and have not already done so, remember to file for a Homestead Exemption. This can save you thousands of dollars in property taxes!
While some states provide this exemption automatically, in Georgia a homestead exemption must be applied for. Depending on the county, this can be done online, by fax, by mail or in person. You only have to apply for the exemption once. The exemption remains as long as you reside in the home as your primary residence.
Click here for Homestead Exemption application deadline dates listed by county along with a link for a Homestead Exemption application. It is important to file your application on time as applications received after the deadline will be processed the following year.
The 10th annual Dream in Green Gala will be held Sunday, February 26th at the Fernbank Museum of Natural History located at 767 Clifton Road in Atlanta. The event will take place from 6:30pm to 10pm.
This is the signature fund-raising event dedicated to the revitalization and preservation of Atlanta’s historic Olmstead Linear Park. One of Atlanta’s most visible parks, it runs along Ponce De Leon Ave in the Druid Hills neighborhood, and the Fernbank Museum is the perfect setting for the gala since it’s located on the northeast side of the park.
