The 11th annual Taste of the Highlands will take place on Saturday, May 18, 2013. The festival is held at the John Howell Park located off of Virginia Ave NE in the Virginia Highlands neighborhood of Atlanta. Hours are from 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm.
The Taste of the Highlands is the perfect chance to taste all of the delicious food from several of the popular Virginia-Highland neighborhood restaurants. The annual Hunger Walk/Run is on Sunday, March 10, 2013. The event takes place at Turner Field’s Green Lot, located at 755 Hank Aaron Drive in downtown Atlanta. Onsite registration begins at 12:00 noon, and the race starts at 2:00 pm.
Over 15,000 runners and walkers participated in last year’s event, helping to raise money to fight hunger in Georgia and local communities. The 5k walk and race is a family-friendly event with a festival atmosphere and lots of entertainment. There will be food vendors, games, educational activities, live entertainment, and much more at the event.
