The Norcross Art Festival is in it’s 9th year and it takes place on Saturday, October 6 and Sunday, October 7, 2012. The event is held in Historic Downtown Norcross. The hours on Saturday are from 10:00 am to 6:00 pm. Sunday hours are from 11:00 am to 5:00 pm.
There will be an artist market featuring some of the most unique and wacky art. Past festival-goers have named this “The Festival with Personality.” The artwork featured at the festival will be everything from fun crafts and handmade items to fine art. Guests will be able to stroll the local shops and boutiques among the artist booths, as well.
The Norcross Art Festival will hold an auction for Chairs for Charity. Over 45 chairs, tables, and other items were donated for this year’s event. The donated goods were then dropped off at local schools and students painted the items in their art classes. These whimsical pieces will be auctioned off at the festival and proceeds will be given back to support the various school art programs.
The beautiful Thrasher Park is where the Kidz Zone area will be. Children will enjoy all sorts of activities including, craft projects, face painting, inflatable slides, and the popular “kiddie” train. There will also be various musical performances on Thrasher Park’s stage. This intimate stage will be host to blues, oldies, jazz, country and other musicians that will be playing through out each day for all listeners to enjoy.
The local restaurants will be open for business and the festival will also have other food vendors at the event.
