What to do 4th of July weekend in Atlanta

How will you be celebrating Independence Day this year? Around Metro Atlanta, the choices are endless. Below is a sample of the many patriotic celebrations.

  • July 3rd
  • Chamblee Independence Day Celebration -  Evening of family fun with games, parade and live music. Grab a blanket, sit under the stars and enjoy this great fireworks display at Keswick Park. July 3rd, 2010.
  • Fourth in the Park at Marietta Square – Marietta’s Fourth in the Park celebration will be Saturday, July 3, 2010. Activities include a parade, free live concerts, museum tours, arts and crafts show, food, carnival games and fireworks. July 3rd, 2010.
  • Fantastic Fourth Celebration at Stone Mountain – Enjoy the day at the park! Hike the mountain, catch a 4-D movie and see the Lasershow Spectacular at sundown. After the laser show, there will a patriotic fireworks display. July 3 – 5, 2010.
  • July 4th
  • Peachtree Road Race – If you’re not running the Peachtree Road Race, cheer on those who are! July 4th, 2010.
  • Centennial Olympic Park – An all day free festival ending with a spectacular fireworks display. Can’t go in person? Watch the live broadcast of the fireworks display on 11Alive.  July 4, 2010.
  • Lenox Square – Celebrate in grand tradition with activities for the entire family children’s activities, live entertainment, food and don’t miss the largest fireworks display in the Southeast. July 4th, 2010.

  • Decatur Square – The Pied Piper Parade will start at 6 pm, a concert at 7 pm and fireworks at sundown. July 4, 2010.
  • Light Up the Lake at Lake Lanier Islands – All-day event filled with family entertainment leading up to the largest fireworks display in North Georgia. July 4th, 2010.
  • July 5th
  • Dunwoody 4th of July Parade – A Dunwoody Tradition! Thousands of residents will be line up along Mt. Vernon Road to view the festive floats and marching groups and celebrate our Country’s founding. July 5th, 2010. High schools bands, kids on bikes and neighborhood floats abound!
