The dining room’s warm ambiance is filled with custom wood and leather booths, banquettes and tables, and a show-stopping 15 foot by 5 foot painting of a longhorn by contemporary artist, Carrie Penley.

Q&A with our friend and Word of Mouth Restaurants owner, Michel Arnette:
What was the inspiration behind ARNETTE’S Chop Shop?
Listen to your neighbors! They wanted an upscale steakhouse and a luxurious roof top bar experience. We decided to take Word of Mouth restaurants and Brookhaven to the next level in dining. Brookhaven deserves to have the finest restaurants right in their backyard! I believe we are headed down that path.
How has Brookhaven changed since first opening HAVEN?
WOW…where to start! First, there were many people that questioned our decision to open HAVEN on Dresden Drive in 2003. We felt that Brookhaven was on the cusp of transition at the time. The hope was that people would find us and with great food and gracious service a community could blossom. We have been blessed with amazing guests and many visionary people who invested in the development of today’s highly desirable Brookhaven neighborhood and city.
How has your business changed?
In the beginning HAVEN was about feeding the soul of our community. It quickly became Brookhaven’s neighborhood spot to congregate. Now, almost 16 years in business, we are so fortunate to offer Brookhaven four completely independent and different places to ‘feed the soul’.
What do you attribute your success to?
This is simple, my team and family. We have been blessed with amazing people who really love the hospitality part of our business! It all starts with our family of employees. They all mean so much to me.
What’s next for Word of Mouth Restaurants?
We have a fantastic new concept coming early next year called the ‘Royal’, opening in an old converted gas station that was built back in 1952.. It is a retro Americana diner and grill.
What is a “must try” on the menu at each of your restaurants?
HAVEN must try’s are: Crispy Wild Georgia Shrimp, Roasted Scottish Salmon and our Big Green Egg Smoked Shortrib.
Valenza must try’s are: Grilled Mediterranean Octopus, any pasta on the menu and the Braised Rabbit.
Vero Pizzeria must try’s are: The vero salad, Prosciutto de Parma pizza and the Carbonara pizza.
Arnette’s Chop Shop must try’s are: Oysters on the half shell, all shellfish cooked over our hearth and the 22oz Cowboy Ribeye.
