Cool Dads Rock Soap Box Derby

Known as the most anticipated event to hit Historic Fourth Ward Park, the Cool Dads Rock Soap Box Derby returns for its 5th year!

Bring the whole family out for a day filled with food, music, activities for all ages, prizes, and cars! The race itself kicks off at 12:30 p.m. as drivers over the age of 4 race downhill for a variety of prizes. Amateurs and professionals alike with design and build their own human-powered soap box cars to compete for the fastest car and most creative car, among other categories. 

Over 800 people are expected to attend the race and festival.

Cool Dads Rock (CDR) is a growing non-profit organization aimed towards building lasting and memorable relationships among fathers and their children. The mission of Cool Dads Rock is to strengthen relationships by creating environments where fathers and their children can bond through engaging educational, and entertaining events.

According to CDR, the Soap Box Derby was created to “assist fathers in building lasting and memorable relationships with their children.”
