Druid Hills Tour of Homes & Gardens

The Druid Hills Civic Association announces the 2017 Druid Hills Tour of Homes & Gardens and Makers Market! The premiere tour of homes and gardens celebrates the evolution of the architecture and design of the Druid Hills neighborhood in Atlanta.

Focused on preserving and extending the vision of noted landscape architect Frederick Law Olmsted, the Druid Hills Tour of Homes & Gardens will celebrate its 49th year with six elegant homes that feature renovation, restoration, and the work of master gardeners:

The 2017 Druid Hills Tour of Homes & Gardens will also feature a series of free events open to the public.


Jazz in the Plaza
5:30 p.m. – 7:30 p.m.
Emory Village Plaza

Listen to the smooth sounds of local resident Michael Hoskin on saxophone, along with a rhythm section of veteran Atlanta musicians, playing a variety of classic jazz standards.

Makers Market
Saturday | 10:00 a.m. – 9:00 p.m.
Slice & Pint Parking Lot

The Makers Market will feature artwork, jewelry, clothing, furniture, handmade items, baked goods, and sculpture of Atlanta artists. Parking is not available on site; however, the Tour Trolley will stop in Emory Village at the entrance to Slice & Pint.

Start the evening with music by the Druid Hills Youth Showcase, featuring Madison Chance, Charles Eastman, Sophie Sadd, Chase Calhoun, Taylor Liebold, and others! Later, the Tour welcomes back Bradley Cole Smith, the well-known leader of Doublewide, mixing original music with crowd pleaser covers ranging from Van Morrison and The Stones, to Elvis and Three Dog Night.

Patch Dash 5K Fun Run/ Walk and Tot Trot
Sunday | 8:00 a.m. – 10:00 a.m.
Emory Village Plaza

5K run/walk begins and ends in Emory Village. The Tot Trot is for kids 5 and under. All proceeds benefit childhood cancer research. T-shirts and goodie bags given to participants. Register may register online or onsite at 6:45 a.m.

Friday | 10:30 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.
1600 Clifton Road | FREE

Join for a Guided Tour of the David J. Sencer CDC Museum, a multi-media museum covering US and global health from past to present. Catch the complimentary Shuttle at Slice ‘n Pint in Emory Village at 10:30 a.m. (will also provide retu transportation). Tour begins at 11:00 and lasts for approximately 1.5 hours.

Lullwater Conservation Garden Plant Sale

Saturday & Sunday | 10:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.

Native perennials suited to Atlanta’s climate and drought-tolerant succulents will be available, as well as a variety of heirloom tomato plants. All proceeds will benefit the Lullwater Conservation Garden, Inc., which recently launched an ambitious revitalization of the 6.5-acre garden that it has tended since 1931.

Tickets for the 3-day tour are available for $25 per person. Proceeds from the tour and events benefit the Druid Hills neighborhood, which is on the National Register of Historic Places.
