Free Entrance Days at National Parks | 2021

With free admittance to all National Parks, the birthday of Martin Luther King Jr. is the perfect time to celebrate all that America’s beautiful parks have to offer!

All National Park Service entrance fees will be waived.

Be part of America’s largest celebration of national heritage! It’s about making great connections, exploring amazing places, discovering open spaces, enjoying affordable vacations, and enhancing America’s best idea—the national parks! It’s all happening in your national parks.

Fee-free days make national parks accessible to more people. What better way to commemorate the coming season than to get outdoors?

The fee waiver includes: entrance fees, commercial tour fees, and transportation entrance fees. All other fees are not included unless stated otherwise.

2021 Free Entrance Dates

  • January 18th: Birthday of Martin Luther King, Jr.
  • April 17th: First day of National Park Week
  • August 4th: One year anniversary of the Great American Outdoors Act
  • August 25th: National Park Service Birthday
  • September 25th: National Public Lands Day
  • November 11th: Veterans Day

Throughout the week, many parks will also host Every Kid in a Park events, which encourage fourth grade students to visit national parks and other public lands by offering a free annual pass. Active duty military and citizens with a permanent disability can also get free passes.
