St. Paul United Methodist Church has welcomed the Grant Park Candlelight Tour of Homes for nearly 40 years. This year, it’s no surprise things look a little different – but the heart of the season is still alive with this year’s Grant Park Candelight Tour of Joy! So string up those twinkling lights and join your neighbors for some socially-distanced festivities. We have you covered with all the details!
Candlelight Tour of Joy
December 12th, 2020
Hosted by St. Paul United Methodist Church
SCHEDULE OF EVENTS
- Virtual Artists Market
November 20th – December 20th
For artists and shoppers everywhere, the virtual market will feature at least twice as many artists in past years! The market will extend beyond the weekend, still offering all the creations you have come to love and discover in your holiday shopping – from jewelry and soaps to handmade toys and pottery.
- House Decorating Contest
November 30th – December 12th
Inflate those reindeer and get ready to deck the halls! Every decorator is welcome in the house decorating contest with entries accepted through November 30th! Awards for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place! Honorable mentions will include classic decorations, the Griswold award, best use of lights, and The Nightmare before Christmas.
- Traveling Band of Holiday Music (Grant St.)
December 12th | 6:00 p.m.
Don’t miss out on the socially-distanced traveling band of holiday merrymakers! A small band of musicians and singers will step off in a parade-style at St. Paul UMC, heading south down Grant St. to Atlanta Ave. and back.
- Virtual Candlelight Christmas Concert
December 13th | 5:00 p.m.
Also, the St. Paul choir will hold its annual Candlelight Christmas Concert virtually on Sunday evening!
While many of the things we have come to know and love have been cancelled throughout the year, reminiscing in the joy of the season is more important now than ever. The Candelight Tour of Joy extends the warmth of the holiday season to the neighbors of Grant Park and beyond. Happy holidays!
