Nathan and Gicela were moving back to Atlanta from Texas with their two small children. Schools were very important! They chose Johns Creek as their primary focus. Homes were selling super fast in their price range. It look seven offers but we finally landed a great home for them in a swim/tennis neighborhood!
Here’s what they had to say, “Becky is extremely knowledgeable and was unbelievably helpful during the entire buying process. She went out of her way to make it as easy and hassle free as possible. We’ve heard negative stories before about other buyers and the difficulty they had with all of the paperwork and time spent negotiating but that wasn’t the case at all with Becky. Her professionalism and responsiveness actually saved us time and money. We are very thankful that Becky was our agent and would recommend her to anyone looking to buy a home.”
Did you buy a home in the Atlanta area in 2013?
If you purchased your home last year and have not already done so, remember to file for a Homestead Exemption. This can save you thousands of dollars in property taxes!
While some states provide this exemption automatically, in Georgia a homestead exemption must be applied for. Depending on the county, this can be done online, by fax, by mail or in person. You only have to apply for the exemption once. The exemption remains as long as you reside in the home as your primary residence.
Click here for Homestead Exemption application deadline dates listed by county along with a link for a Homestead Exemption application. It is important to file your application on time as applications received after the deadline will be processed the following year.
