2:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m.

Eastside | Dekalb Ave

Closed to motorized traffic, the BRAND NEW route connects Kirkwood and Lake Claire neighborhoods to Downtown along 4.4 miles of Decatur Street and DeKalb Avenue.  Roads will be opened to people on foot, bike, and other human-powered activities. Come take part in the family-friendly fun by biking, skating, walking and rolling down the streets!

The free event transforms the streets of Atlanta into a public park open to the community. There is no beginning or end, so hop on in wherever you’d like!

Atlanta Dogwood Festival

The dogwoods are in full bloom, which means it’s time for Atlanta’s official kickoff into Spring! The city’s favorite springtime tradition returns with the 82nd Annual Atlanta Dogwood Festival.

7 Ways to Commemorate MLK Day Around Atlanta

Martin Luther King Day is a day of remembrance, celebration, and commemoration.

We have you covered with all the happenings around Atlanta in honor of the national Martin Luther King Jr. holiday: January 15th, 2018.

  1. MLK Day 5K
    Not only does the race celebrate MLK Jr. Day, but Atlanta area schools, churches, community organizations and businesses are able to use the race as a fundraiser for their community-oriented initiatives. $5 of each registration from an approved organization will be returned to that organization for use in community efforts of its choice. Drummers every 50 meters will give the race a unique vibe that will transform the 3.1 miles into fast parade.  Just think…drummers will keep the beat as you streak through the Park! The 5K walk/run is a USATF certified 5K race course and a Peachtree Road Race Qualifier.
