Bring One for the Chipper! You may be wondering what to do with your Christmas tree after the holiday, and there’s no better time to Bring One for the Chipper

2025 Event Details
Saturday | January 4th

Some locations run various dates from December 26th through January 31st.

Instead of placing the tree on the curb (which will eventually end up in a landfill), bring it to one of the several “Bring One for the Chipper” tree recycling events.

The annual Georgia Christmas tree recycling program has recycled over 6 million trees and counting, recycling them into mulch donated to playgrounds, government beautification projects, parks, and individual yards.

Christmas trees can be recycled into mulch, fuel, and fish habitats. The mulch created from the recycled trees has been used for playgrounds, local government beautification projects, and individual yards.

Impact by the numbers

Last year, the network collected a total of 37,274 trees from 122 locations across the state. Of these, 35,996 trees were recycled into mulch for playgrounds, city and county landscaping projects, and individual homes. Additionally, 1,340 trees were submerged in lakes to create fish habitats, while 1,678 trees were repurposed for fuel or other uses.
