Now that Christmas is over and you start to take the decorations down, you may think to yourself, “What am I going to do with this tree?”It’s time to Bring One for the Chipper!
Saturday | January 8th, 2021
Instead of placing the tree on the curb (which will eventually end up in a landfill), bring it to one of the several “Bring One for the Chipper” tree recycling events. This annual Georgia Christmas tree recycling program has recycled almost 6 million trees, recycling them into mulch donated to playgrounds, government beautification projects, parks, and individual yards.
Christmas trees can be recycled into mulch, fuel, and fish habitats. The mulch created from the recycled trees has been used for playgrounds, local government beautification projects, and individual yards.
Each year, Keep Georgia Beautiful partners with private sponsors to organize the recycling event. These statewide sponsors include: The Home Depot, The Davey Tree Expert Company, Georgia Forestry Commission and WXIA-TV.
