Myrna ClaytonFriday Jazz returns to the High Museum of Art for an entirely new twist on your favorite musical experience. Not your typical Friday Jazz, enjoy an evening with a signature cocktail and music in two locations throughout the Museum!

Relax with a cold cocktail, explore the museum’s permanent collections, and enjoy the incredible variety of jazz from straight ahead to free jazz, bebop to swing, and more. The immersive experience will feature local talents layering notes, improvising melodies, and drawing on inspiration from jazz history.

December’s Cocktail: The Pomme Winter Punch
This month’s specialty cocktail features flavors of brandy, spiced apples, and a blend of pomegranate, lime, and cranberry juices topped with a dash of prosecco.

Meet “America’s Songbird”: Myrna Clayton
Hailing from Alabama and raised in Atlanta, Myrna Clayton is celebrated as one of jazz’s most dynamic vocalists. Known as “America’s Songbird,” Clayton has performed across five continents, most recently captivating audiences at Ghana’s 2024 Jazz in January festival. Her talent has earned her a unique role as a cultural ambassador, collaborating with the U.S. State Department to showcase American music at embassies around the globe. Dubbed “the Maynard Ferguson of Jazz Vocals” by a conductor in Kazan, Russia, Clayton’s powerful voice and magnetic performances continue to make waves worldwide.
