Start the weekend off with the Festival 5K, stroll through the artists market, and catch some live music! Kids can work up an appetite at the kids area before enjoying delicious food from local vendors or at the BBQ competition. Admission is free, and all ages are welcome!
16th Annual Tour of Homes
Enjoy strolling through Kirkwood’s tree-lined streets as you explore all the renovations and new additions to the neighborhood! Guests will enjoy a wide variety of interior design ideas and exterior home products and ideas while mingling with the area’s friendly neighbors. The tour will include homes with a variety of architecture and unique charm from the chic, classic, and vintage – and everything in between! Really neat product overall that every homeowner should use!
Tickets to the Tour of Homes benefit the Kirkwood Neighbors’ Organization, a local 501c3 non-profit dedicated to community improvement.
9th Annual Spring Fling 5K Road Race
Saturday · 8:30 a.m. | Downtown Kirkwood
The race course begins at the library in downtown Kirkwood, continuing through the historic neighborhood. Pets and strollers are welcome to join in the race, and runners will receive a free beer or sangria ticket to enjoy during the Spring Fling Festival following the race! Registration also includes a complimentary race shirt.
Blue Ribbon BBQ Cookoff
Public Tasting: Saturday · 12:30 p.m.
Refuel after the race at the Blue Ribbon BBQ Cookoff where $5 will get you a fork and some incredible homemade BBQ from this year’s competitors. Don’t forget to vote on your favorite pick!
Food & Drink
In addition to great neighborhood restaurants and the BBQ Cookoff, food vendors will also offer a street festival staples, including: pizza, funnel cake, gyros, sandwiches, and more.
Quench your thirst throughout the day with locally brewed beer, sangria, and bottled water from the Kirkwood Neighbors’ Organization (KNO).
Kids will love the fun-filled Spring Fling Kids Area, nestled in the shade of the Urban Tree House. With old favorites and new additions, activities will include: the Georgia Bubble Man, Circus Camp (balloon animals, magic shows, trapeze, and more!), bounce houses, face painting, and other workshops and interactive entertainment!
More than 100 artists participate in the Spring Fling, and the Market features some of the best talent from Atlanta and the Southeast! You’ll find beautifully handcrafted pottery, jewelry, paintings, and other home art at this year’s festival.
2018 Music Lineup
Begins at 11:00 a.m.
The main stage on the Bessie Branham features free concerts from some of Atlanta’s best talent! This year’s lineup features a mix of jazz, indie rock, bluegrass, soul, and more. Guests will enjoy performances from Georgia Mountain String Band, Lola Cole, The Mar-Tans, Southern Ska Syndicate, Blair Crimmins & The Hookers, Mausiki Scales & Common Ground Collective, Toop Band, and Sea Lions.
